Brunch On 3rd: The Space

Now, let’s talk about the vibe.

Brunch on 3rd operates out of a beautiful heritage home, that has been converted into a restaurant.

The living room is converted into the main seating area, and the fireplace stands in as the bar. There is an outdoor patio, too!

Brunch on 3rd is one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back morning or afternoon.

It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and maybe even chat with the people at the table next to you.

Brunch On 3rd Menu

Okay, let’s move into with the menu. It’s not just your typical breakfast fare – Brunch on 3rd takes classic dishes and gives them a bit of a twist.

For a small restaurant, it’s a big menu! You’ll find eggs bennies, waffles, sandwiches, burgers, and more.

They use fresh, local ingredients, which you can totally taste in every bite. The flavors are spot-on, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into each dish. Plus, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a sweet or savory fan.

Brunch On 3rd Vegetarian Menu Items

Although most of the menu items are meat-focused, Brunch on 3rd does have a couple of vegetarian plates.

There are a few vegetarian options, including:

The Hash

Herbed potato with peppers, onions, your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. Topped with two poached eggs, hollandaise, salsa and house toast.

The Herbi

Vegan sausage, hashbrowns, tomatoes, avocado, house salsa and toast.

Huevos Rancheros

2 poached eggs, black beans, herb potato, ranchero sauce, grilled onions, guacamole and peppers with corn tortilla chips.

West Coast Mushroom Benny

Sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions and tomato jam.

North African Avocado Toast

Pickled vegetables, house dukkah spice, arugula and spiced rose oil.

I recently tried the West African Smashed Avocado toast (pictured below). It had a nice flavor, but I was disappointed to find out that it was a dish served ice cold.

I was hoping for a hot breakfast, or at least warm toast, but it was all cold.

Still tasty, but not as expected. I still ate it, but I probably wouldn’t order that one again (unless they increased the temperature!)

The last time I went there I ordered the Herbi, and it was awesome (and hot).

Kids Menu At Brunch On 3rd

For diners with kids, you will be happy to know that Brunch On 3rd has a dedicated kids menu.

Items for kids include chicken strips, burgers, and grilled cheese.

As a parent, I appreciate that the serving sizes and the prices for the kids items are half the regular size/price.

Unlike places like Cactus Club which don’t have a kids menu, and force parents to have no option but to pay full price for a full-sized plate of chicken strips that their kids will just waste!

Brunch On 3rd also gives the items on their kids menu cute names like “The I Don’t Care” and the “I Want To Go Home.”

The Service at Brunch On 3rd

Ah, the service? Honestly, every time I’ve been here, the service is a bit rushed and not very warm. The staff takes your order and brings it to you – but don’t expect to be asked how your day is, or to get any sort of personality from your server.

I know how stressful being a server is – I did it for a decade back in the day. I get that sometimes you don’t have a ton of time to make a good impression with your customers. So as long as the food is good, I’m fine with that.

Thankfully, our server was prompt and brought everything we needed. And someone came around to refill coffees frequently, so that was great.

But it’s worth noting, if you are someone who expects a warm welcome or thoughtful personable service – you probably won’t get that here.

The staff at Brunch on 3rd is efficient and works hard to bring you your meal in the busy morning rush – but beyond that, don’t expect too much friendliness!

When you walk in you won’t be greeted with “Hi how are you today?” Instead, you’ll just get a jarring “how many?!” from the staff at the door. So, you have to be ok with that.

Tips For Dining At Brunch On 3rd

It’s important to mention that the restaurant is only open from 8am – 2pm weekdays and 7am-2pm on weekends.

And unless you are there before 9am, expect a long lineup down the garden path!

So it’s best to arrive early. They do not take reservations!

Or you could always order takeout from them which is good if you can’t get a table.

On a recent visit, we showed up at 7:30am on a Sunday and walked right in. By the time we dined, paid and walked back outside, the line was already down the street!

Is There Parking At Brunch On 3rd?

There is no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, just street parking. But street parking is free.

As for getting there, it’s pretty much a breeze. Brunch on 3rd is right in the heart of downtown Duncan, so it’s easy to find.

Brunch On 3rd Review – Conclusion

All in all, Brunch on 3rd is a total win. It’s a wonderful spot to hit up whether you’re on your own, with friends, or even bringing the whole family along.

Brunch on 3rd is a lovely little hidden gem. Next time you are heading through Duncan be sure to stop in.

Whether you’re craving something sweet, savory, or just a good time, you’ll find it here. Check out their menu online, make a reservation, or just drop in – you won’t regret it!

In a nutshell, Brunch on 3rd is the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is chill, and the people are just plain awesome. If you’re anywhere near Duncan, you’ve got to stop by and give it a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
