Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise: Perfect Canadian Rocky Mountain Destination
Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places in Canada. It is located just outside Banff National Park, and it offers all sorts of activities for visitors to enjoy, not to mention some of the best skiing in North America!
The lake itself has a deep blue color that’s so clear you can see straight down into its depths.
One of the most iconic hotels on this lake is Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise which provides luxurious accommodations with stunning views out over the water.

Fairmont Château Lake Louise
The hotel sits at an elevation of almost 7000 feet overlooking seven miles (12 kilometers) of pristine blue waters, surrounded by majestic peaks such as Mount Temple and Victoria Glacier.
The view from your private balcony takes your breath away day after day. You can take a hike along trails ranging from one-day excursions to week-long treks into alpine meadows filled with wildflowers.
Or visit Banff National Park, less than two hours drive north, for other hiking opportunities like Mor Lake or Johnston Canyon.
This is an ideal place for a romantic getaway with your significant other. The Fairmont also has the Fairmont Gold program, Fairmont’s way of showing their appreciation to repeat visitors.

The main lounge area was very comfortable with leather chairs with plenty of room for everyone who wanted to sit down and relax after dinner.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Spa
One of the highlights for me during my stay was visiting their private Lake Louise Spa. This spa is a full-service day & night facility with an indoor pool, hot tubs and saunas, steam rooms, and even tanning beds!
They offer massages in all different styles, including deep tissue massage, which I love! If you’re looking for some relaxation time during your vacation, then this Lake Louise Canada Hotels’ full-service day & night spa should be on your list as well.

The new wing of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel
For those interested, they have also just finished upgrading one whole side of the hotel so that there will be a total of 324 guest rooms, which is about 50 more than before.
They also added some very nice new restaurants in the hotel so that you don’t have to leave Lake Louise if you want to eat out.
One with an outdoor patio on Lake Louise called The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Restaurant (the other two being BlueStone Steakhouse and Molokini Lounge). There is a total of 8 dining options here.
The Fairmont Gold Lounge at Cascades Restaurant
The Fairmont Gold Lounge is located at Cascades restaurant. This is an exclusive club for guests staying in a Fairmont Gold room or having a Fairmont Gold membership.
Some of the benefits of having access to this lounge include complimentary breakfast from Executive Chef, Bernard Rosso, served right outside your door every morning.
You can also enjoy afternoon canapés and drinks, computer stations with printers and scanners, a library stocked with current magazines and newspapers, board games, and more! Plus, they have some very comfortable chairs where you can relax after a long day out skiing or hiking!

How To Get To Lake Louise
To get here, fly into Calgary’s International Airport (YYC). Rent a car to drive up Highway #1 west, passing through Banff National Park, where you will arrive at one of Canada’s most popular ski destinations!
If you have more time, you may want to continue onto highway #93 north, along the famous Icefields Parkway, and visit Jasper National Park. A visit to scenic Moraine Lake right outside Banff National Park is also a great place to stop if time permits.
An Ideal Canadian Rocky Mountain Vacation
The Fairmont Château Lake Louise is a resort hotel located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It stands on the eastern shore of Lake Louise and faces Victoria Glacier.
The hotel was built in 1890 by the Canadian Pacific Railway to lure tourists into taking its train westward. The hotel has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
